Professional Staff Patrick M. Thorne, CPA, MBA Founding Shareholder A native Nevadan, Patrick Thorne has over thirty years of experience as a CPA, including twenty years of financial and operational experience in the gaming industry. He began his career in 1972 as a staff accountant for a Big Eight international accounting firm in Las Vegas. Prior to returning to public accounting in 1997, he held senior management positions in several major Las Vegas-based gaming companies. Thorne also has served as an outside director and audit committee chairman for a Laughlin, Nevada hotel/casino. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada in Reno and holds a masters degree in business administration from UNLV. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and served as a member of council and on the Institute’s committee that produced Audits of Casinos, the official gaming industry audit and accounting guide for the profession. In November of 2007, Thorne was re-appointed by Governor Jim Gibbons to a second three-year term as a member of the Nevada State Board of Accountancy and currently serves as the board's secretary/treasurer. Thorne also serves on the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy's Strategic Initiatives Committee. He is a past president of the Nevada Society of CPAs and past president of the Las Vegas Chapters of the International Association of Hospitality Accountants and Nevada Society of CPAs. He has served on committees of the Nevada Resort Association responsible for the drafting of proposed gaming legislation. He is currently a member of the International Association of Gaming Advisors. Licensed to practice in Nevada and Oregon, Thorne's primary responsibilities in the firm are gaming, assurance services and taxation. He is a member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, Ducks Unlimited, and serves on the Board of Directors as Assistant Treasurer for the Las Vegas Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Gaydosh, CPA Managing Shareholder Carlene Gaydosh has over twenty years of experience in both public accounting and as a small business owner. She began her career with the Las Vegas office of Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Deloitte) and has worked for several medium and small local accounting firms in the Las Vegas area. She is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has served as a member of council for the Institute. She is Immediate Past-Chairman of the Nevada Society of CPAs and is Past-President of the Las Vegas Chapter of the NSCPA. In addition, she is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Women Presidents' Association, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Nevada Community Foundation. She is also active in Ducks, Unlimited. Her specialties are taxation, litigation support and business valuation. Brome, CPA Shareholder With more than 25 years of experience in public accounting, Robert Brome brings a wealth of knowledge to Thorne & Gaydosh. He joined the firm in January, 2005 although he had worked with Pat Thorne from 1999 until 2001, prior to the formation of Thorne & Gaydosh. His primary responsibility in the firm is the management of the tax department; however, he also takes an active roll in many of the other accounting and management functions. Brome has held the position of tax manager with several other Las Vegas and Henderson firms, where he enjoyed developing strong client relationships. His years in public accounting have provided him the opportunity to become experienced in all areas of both federal and state taxation, including individual, corporate, partnership, estates, trusts, and not-for-profit. He believes that it is the roll of certified public accountants to bring value to their clients by being proactive in offering and providing tax planning and education, in addition to the actual return preparation. Brome earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Wyoming in Laramie. He was originally licensed in Wyoming and is now licensed in Nevada. He is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants.  Prior to moving to the Las Vegas area, he owned and operated his own accounting firm in Wyoming for 19 years. He was active in the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, and the Wyoming Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 1987, the governor of Wyoming appointed him to the Wyoming State Board of Accountancy where he served for six years, two as president of the Board.  Bob and his wife, Andrea, reside in Henderson. Lambert Senior Gaming Consultant Prior to joining Thorne & Gaydosh, Dena Lambert served as revenue audit manager for both Cannery Hotel & Casino in North Las Vegas and the Rampart Casino Resort at Summerlin in Las Vegas. In this capacity, she was responsible for conducting Regulation 6A training for all casino and accounting employees as well as hiring and training casino audit and count room personnel. In addition, she was responsible for the review and administration of all CTRC-N filings with FinCen. She played an integral part in the Rampart Casino's successful acquisition of the Regent Las Vegas Casino and during the opening of the Cannery. Dena began her gaming career as a casino auditor with Fitzgerald's Hotel & Casino in downtown Las Vegas and later as a casino analyst, where she evaluated competitors' casino marketing trends. Dena primarily focuses on providing outsourced internal audit, consulting and other compliance services for all of the firm's gaming clients throughout the state.
